Open Studio is coming to an end and it has been one of the best yet. I am constantly reminded of the power of creativity. This style of painting has allowed sometimes timid artists to express new levels of emotion in their work. It is wonderful to see. There are many students that would like to continue painting in this style. I am planning a “Paint With Me” workshop this summer. There seems to be interest in an ongoing group or workshop where students can continue to learn more about brush painting in the Chinese and Sumi-e styles.

I am actively looking for a guest speaker that will talk to us about the finer points of Sumi-e and Chinese brush painting so be watching for that. I have included a video in this post of some of the beautiful work that was created during the class.

Our next Open Studio at Digital Art Academy will be held on September 24th. Registration for this class begins on August 28th, 2010. Watch the blog for more information.
