HERE'S WHAT BETTY HAD TO SAY

HOW I DISCOVERED PAINTER TALK

I joined this forum in the fall of 2006 after seeing Karen’s wonderful work on Marilyn Sholin’s Paint Outside the Frame digital painting forum. I had purchased Paint Shop Pro X and Painter Essentials 3 in the Spring of 2006, but found I wanted to do more than Essentials 3 would let me do. I saw the Painter classes offered on line. So I purchased Painter IX after returning home from my summer wanderings that year. Karen invited me to join Open Painter Classes and my journey with Painter started.

ART AND MY LIFE

I always say I went into art by the back door. I started with schooling and work in floral design, and went on to own an arts and crafts shop, Heritage Studios, in Ohio, for many years.

I took many classes and later taught classes, mostly in acrylics, decorative painting and landscape. I designed folk art that was sold by Country Store Collection. I was a member of our local Art League and enjoyed classes with them. I painted mostly in watercolor and acrylics.

I am retired now and live way down in south Texas. I am so happy to find friends online who enjoy art and painting. I have been taking Karen’s Open Studio painting classes and also her brush class. I have a long way to go to learn the Painter brushes, but I am loving it.
